In April 1992 IBM presented the ThinkPad 700. That model would become the first of a very long and prestigious lineage that today adds new variants, one of which is the ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 11.
This pure laptop inherits all the virtues of its previous predecessors, and in addition to renewing some internal components, it adds improvements aimed especially at one area: that of the energy efficiency.

A laptop in search of maximum energy efficiency
After all these years, Lenovo declared how in this new era of computing dominated by the need for a more sustainable future, ThinkPads focus their attention on the zero emissions target of the company.
For example, this has made the use of recycled materials increasingly remarkable in this model: 90% recycled magnesium in the palm rest and 55% recycled aluminum in its lower cover prove it.
The external appearance of the equipment does not change compared to its predecessor and here Lenovo makes the famous “if it works, don’t touch it” good again. We are once again facing a compact and very light team (1.12 kg).
The laptop has two USB-C ports with a Thunderbolt interface, but fortunately it does not forget to also offer USB-A ports and even an HDMI connector, which makes the proposal very versatile in this regard. Too bad it doesn’t have an SD/Micro SD card reader.
The 14-inch screen is available with an OLED panel and a resolution of up to 2,880 x 1,800 px, and also boasts very tight frames, especially on the sides. In the upper part, the frame is somewhat wider, but with good reason: it houses the webcam with privacy switch and also an IR sensor that enables the facial recognition feature with Windows Hello.
This search for efficiency translates into functions such as Zero Touch Lock, a function that uses the webcam to detect if the user is in front of the screen and, if not, take measures to save energy.
The models with OLED panel they also help reduce consumption, and smart charging can help extend battery life by setting charging thresholds.
There is also a focus on video calls: Lenovo View improves with news in the field of privacy, and these models have automatic framing, background hiding or automatic presenter functions, as well as AI aids to improve video quality.
