The studio has not wanted to commit to specific dates, so for now it divides the Marvel Snap news into three categories: coming soon, in development and in concept. Items that are in the final phase of development are listed in Coming Soon. These are features that are “nearly ready for release” and are currently in the process of being improved, optimized and debugged to ensure that when they are available the experience for players will be correct and expected.
The news that Marvel Snap will soon receive are:
- Battle mode vs. Friends– A new mode where each player starts with 10 health, and the winning player deals damage to their opponent equal to the match stake. Games can be created and joined with a code. Available in one or two months.
- Name change: User name can be changed.
- Credits to the artists– When looking at a card’s details, you can tap the name plate at the top to see the card artist and infinity cut mods.
- Support for Russian and Vietnamese languages
In the section under development we find the functions in which Second Dinner is still working and must improve. “The functions and systems of this section can change radically: we may discover that our initial idea was not fun or we may discover that we can achieve our goals in a different way,” warns the study. Marvel Snap features in development are:
- Widescreen for PC
- smart decks: You can finish a deck with the press of a button.
- Rankless Mode: to play without risk of losing ranks or cubes.
- New competitive modes: Want to use Battle mode in new ways.
Finally, we have a concept, a group that includes the ideas that still have to go through a process of debate, documentation, and planning. “Features that are currently in the ‘In Concept’ phase have been initially defined and shaped, but no engineering or development work has yet been done on the game itself,” explains Second Dinner. Some of the concepts they are thinking of for Marvel Snap are:
- Guilds (social system)
- Infinite range ranking
- Card emojis and collectible emotes
- mythical variants
- magnet enhancers
- Titles and avatars per deck
- PC controller support
- Season Chest Improvements
- in-game events
