Esteban González Pons, on the law of ‘only yes is yes’: “This is not a Podemos law, the last person responsible is Sánchez”
The PP continues to demand political responsibilities for the reductions in sentences for rapists and sexual abusers after interpreting the law of ‘only yes is yes’. “The law belongs to the Government of Sánchez, this is not a law of Podemos”, said the deputy secretary for institutional action of the PP. In an interview on the Antena 3 program Espejo Público, Esteban González Pons stressed: “The last person responsible is Sánchez.”
The deputy secretary for institutional action of the PP has described the law as a “fiasco” and has stated that “in any country in Europe” what is happening in recent days would lead to reactions from the Government. “Do not blame the judges, immediate assumption of responsibilities,” he stressed. González Pons has underlined the importance of reforming the law and changing it to a harsher one: “Unfortunately, new cases are taking place and waiting for the doctrine to be unified is allowing new sexual assaults to be judged by this benevolent law and not by another one hard”.
The general secretary of the PP has spoken along the same lines as Pons. In an interview on the Telemadrid program Buenos días Madrid, Cuca Gamarra has also called for political responsibilities. “Sánchez should not be endorsing Montero,” he stated, adding that “the consequences are paid by Spanish society, which is less protected than before.”
Gamarra has also criticized the statements from Equality, which have ensured that the judges are “macho”. “If we had a serious government and a president like Spain deserves, the president would not only have dismissed the minister, but would have defended the Judiciary,” said the PP spokeswoman in Congress who, like González Pons, He has concluded that Sánchez is “most responsible” for what is happening.

-Why can some penalties be lowered after the ‘only yes is yes’ reform? Keys to the new law: with the entry into force of the ‘only yes is yes’ law, several courts have revised downward the sentences of rapists, abusers and pedophiles. We tell you the keys to this new rule and why it is possible that some penalties can be lowered.
-The judge files López Madrid’s complaint against Dr. Pinto and questions the work of the Police: eight years after López Madrid denounced Dr. Elisa Pinto in response to the harassment that she had previously denounced, the Justice has decided to file the case against her, after concluding that “the commission of the crime that has given rise to the formation of the cause does not appear duly justified.” Until now, the doctor remained accused.
-Interrogations, accusations and torture in the endless search for Franco’s bed: in 1939, between the months of April and August, a group of officials dedicated themselves to recovering the furniture that had been looted from the dictator’s last apartment in Madrid.
