A delegation from New Zealand visits Vitoria-Gasteiz to learn about its sustainable development policies

VITORIA, Nov. 14 () –

A delegation from the New Zealand city of Christchurch is visiting Vitoria-Gasteiz these days to learn about the different sustainable development actions and projects in the capital of Álava coordinated through the 2030 Urban Agenda.

The meeting is part of the IURC urban cooperation program that pairs cities and regions of the world to share solutions and be able to develop concrete projects included in the Urban Agenda, the Sustainable Development Goals and the Paris Agreement.

In a statement, the Consistory has reported that this program is one of the actions of the Europe 2020 strategy for economic recovery of the European Union.

The mayor of Vitoria-Gasteiz, Gorka Urtaran, the deputy mayor and president of the CEA, Ana Oregi, received the New Zealand delegation this Monday at the Town Hall, made up of political leaders and technicians from the city council and business entrepreneurs.
