The Ukrainian president, Volodimir Zelenski, has reported this Sunday the death of a sapper who worked in the demining of the Kherson region, recently seized from Russian forces by the Ukrainian Army.

Four other people have been injured by the explosion, Zelenski explained in his usual nightly message broadcast on social networks.

“Please, do not forget that the situation in the Kherson region is still very dangerous. First of all, there are mines. Unfortunately, one of our sappers has died and four more have been injured when they were clearing mines,” he said, al time that has asked to notify the authorities as soon as a suspicious object is detected.

Zelenski has stressed that they are already working to restore basic services in the 226 population centers of Kherson, where more than 100,000 people live.

“We are recovering communications, the Internet, television. We are doing everything possible to recover electricity and the water supply. We are going to restore the ambulance service and medicine. Of course we will recover the work of the authorities, the police, of some private companies. Our presence will be felt. It will be felt that there is life”, he highlighted.

Meanwhile, the detention of Russian soldiers, mercenaries and the “neutralization of saboteurs” continue in the more than 4,500 square kilometers recovered in the last week on the right bank of the Dnieper river.

In addition, Zelenski has announced that he will address the G-20 summit next Tuesday. “We are actively preparing an important week for Ukraine. A diplomatic week,” he stressed.

The leaders of the 20 largest economies in the world meet in Indonesia and “our position will be represented,” Zelenski said in his speech.

“We are going to answer many of the questions that they are asking us now. Public answers, which will be heard by all our compatriots, all our allies, all those who support us,” he added.
