The Surface Pro 9 is the most repairable Surface ever to go through iFixit

As seen in one of iFixit’s teardowns, although the general trend of the Surface Pro is that they are extremely difficult devices to repairsomething that was clear with the 1 out of 10 repairability score of the Surface Pro 7, we finally see how Microsoft puts an emphasis on the possibility of repairing its tablets.

In the video on these lines we see the problems of the Surface Pro 7, something that has nothing to do with what has been found in the new Surface Pro 9, a tablet that arrives with a screw-mounted battery, a much easier-to-remove screen, and a user-replaceable SSD drive.

iFixit explains it like this, saying that the new Surface Pro 9 is the most repairable they’ve seen to date, it being evident that Microsoft has had to make major design changes to get this done.

Microsoft for its part promises that service manuals and spare parts will be provided with which users can repair their tablets on their own, without having to go to a technical service, but for now the repairability grade of the Surface Pro 9 is a 7 out of 10, a note that can go up when the manuals and spare parts are released.
