GoPro HERO11 Black Mini: The compact version of GoPro’s flagship camera retains its huge sensor

GoPro has just updated its product catalog with the new HERO11 Black Mini. It is an action camera that is presented as the compact version of the ambitious HERO11 Black presented by the American company just over two months ago.

The HERO11 Black Mini is essentially a HERO11 Black with some elements that have been trimmed down to reduce its size. They share a processor, image sensor, but have differences in terms of battery, content capture and audio characteristics. Let’s see.

An ambitious sensor in a compact camera

One of the newest features of GoPro’s flagship camera, the HERO11 Black, is its 1/1.9-inch sensor. This is also present in the mini version presented today, and it comes with an aspect ratio of 8:7 and allows you to capture video in up to 5K at 60 fps with a maximum color depth of 10 bits.

HERO11 Black comes with Star Trails, Light Paintings, and Vehicle Light Trails sequences that promise to enhance quality content capture. Of course, it is not capable of shooting photos directly, but it offers the possibility of capturing images with a resolution of 27.7 MP from videos.

At the battery level we find an integrated Enduro-type solution. According to the manufacturer, it can provide good performance in different temperatures, as we know that batteries and extreme temperatures are not best friends. Here we have 1,500 mAh vs. 1,720 mAh for full-size camera.

It should be noted that since it’s not all about the hardware, GoPro also pushes its cloud services. Paying subscribers will have the ability to automatically upload captured content and watch a video with the best shots. All this, according to the manufacturer, can be managed from the GoPro Quik mobile application.

HERO11 Black mini price and availability

The new GoPro HERO11 Black mini is now available for purchase in Spain on the manufacturer’s website. Its price is €449.98 and 449.98 euros for GoPro subscribers. It should be noted that the camera requires microSDXC memory to work and this is not included.
