The figures of Mastodon they have not stopped growing since Elon Musk announced the closing of the purchase of Twitter, which has led the open source alternative and based on independent servers to register new users, already exceeding one million monthly active users.
Mastodon was born in 2016 as a social network proposal open source, decentralized, stand-alone server-basedeach with their own administrators and community rules.
Many people have seen in this other proposal an alternative to Twitter, especially in recent weeks, since the purchase of the blue bird social network by tycoon Elon Musk, also CEO of Testla and Starlink, became effective.
A week after the closing of said purchase, Mastodon registered the arrival of more than 230,000 users, who joined others who had an account but had remained inactive on the platform, reaching then more than 655,000 active users.
This Monday, the CEO of this company, Eugene Rochko, has updated the data, celebrating that the decentralized platform had reached 1,028,362 monthly active users throughout the network. From October 27, 1,124 new servers have been opened and 489,003 new users joined.
The data of counting bot of the platform point out that, at the time of writing this news, Mastodon accumulates 6,249,205 accounts. Of these, 5,019 have been created in the last hour, 136,920 in the last day and 450,437 in the last week.
