Fundación ONCE presents the 'Ga11y' project to promote accessibility in video games

The ONCE Foundation presented this Wednesday the project ‘Ga11y’, with which it seeks to promote video games for all people and include accessibility parameters in the different titles.

The presentation ceremony was attended by the General Director of the ONCE Foundation, José Luis Martínez Donoso, the head of the ONCE Foundation’s Department of Accessible Technologies, Lourdes González Perea, the ‘influencer’ Lara Smirnova, the ‘streamer’ Elesky and the person in charge of the Ga11y project.

In the first place, Martínez Donoso has insisted that this project has been created “because all people with disabilities should be able to enjoy of any type of leisure, including video games, and because it is a sector that can employ many people with disabilities”.

As the axis of the project, a Web page dedicated, Ga11y: Accessible Video Games, which includes different sections. Among them, current news about accessibility in video games or events.

In addition, it presents a catalog of video games that allows searching based on the profile and type of disability. In this way, those interested will be able to know if they can enjoy them or not before acquiring them.

At the moment it includes a thirty video games for PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch consoles. Among them, Horizon Forbidden West, Fornite or Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games.

However, in the coming months, titles for both PC and mobile and tablet with iOS and Android operating systems will also be operational.
