The autonomous coordinator of Podemos in Castilla-La Mancha, José Luis García Gascón, has defended that the objective of its formation at the national level is to reach a coalition with Sumar, the platform promoted by Yolanda Díaz, in which Podemos “has the weight that It corresponds to him for being the engine of the progressive bloc since it was born”.

In this way, Gascón, in statements to Europa Press, has aligned himself with the former leader of Podemos, Pablo Iglesias, who assured that the purple formation has to converge with Sumar and that they will be generous to converge with other leftists, but warned that for this their formation has to be “respected”.

The autonomous coordinator of Podemos in the region has highlighted that his party “is the main actor in this political space demonstrated over and over again for eight years.” He explained that “Podemos is the force that achieves transformations for the improvement of the lives of the people of our country and our region and this has been made clear once again at the Autumn University.”

“We have had a high level of attendance and a high level of debate at the national and international level. We are the party that promotes progress in social rights, improvement of public services, women’s rights and environmentalism. We have been working throughout the legislature also from Castilla-La Mancha to achieve progress in this autonomous community in the face of Page’s aggressions and his brake on the coalition government’s social measures, ”he maintained.

Gascón has also emphasized that political organizations, as well as their militants and their voters, “deserve respect.” “We are seeing that this respect towards Podemos is being attacked for being the only force that proposes courageous measures for the majority and for the environment, even if this means confronting the privileges of the powerful,” he claimed.

“To give just one example: the use of the sewers of the State, as Cospedal did to attack Podemos, supposes not only a lack of respect for a political organization, but also an attack on the very rules of democracy”, he concluded.
