Snapchat has announced the launch of the Strava lens, an Augmented Reality (AR) experience that allows users of the platform and this other ‘fitness’ application to share their workouts and sports activities with friends and family.
In order to use this service, the user must be registered on both Snapchat and Strava, a social network focused on athletes who allows you to track races online, as well as follow all the physical activity recorded by the ‘app’.
The new Strava lens is focused on users who want to share their training experience and uses AR technology to do so, which allows them to add key data such as distance traveled or time spent to do a certain exercise.
It works in two ways, either by connecting through Snapchat or by connecting through Strava. In the first case, the lens Strava Activity is found in the search bar, as well as in the lens explorer.
Likewise, it is included in the public profile of the ‘fitness’ ‘app’. From there you must press the training selection icon located on the left, until find the workout you want to share.
Alternatively, activity can be shared on Snapchat by opening the Strava app and selecting the desired workout. Tapping the share icon uploads it to Snapchat and will appear, simultaneouslyin the main chamber of this other platform.
Snapchat has announced that this lens also allows the use of its usual editing tools, to add music or ‘stickers’ to the training, among other details. In addition, it can share a story including photos taken during training. To do this, you must press and slide the capture button to the left to lock and record in hands-free mode.
