Three people, including two children, killed in a bomb attack in Somalia's capital

Nov. 3 (EUROPA PRESS) –

At least three people, including two children, have died this Thursday because of the explosion of a bomb in the path of the vehicle of the deputy mayor of the capital of Somalia, Mogadishu, as confirmed by the authorities.

The police spokesman, Sadiq Aden Ali Dudishe, has indicated that the dead are a soldier and two children and has added that six other people, including five students, have been injured, as reported by the Somali news portal Goobjoog News .

Likewise, Somali media have highlighted that Ali Dudishe was not in the vehicle at the time of the explosion, although they have added that several of his bodyguards have been injured.

At the moment there is no claim of responsibility for the attack, which comes a week after at least 120 people died and more than 330 were injured in an attack carried out by the terrorist group Al Shabaab in the capital of Somalia.

For their part, the Somali authorities executed this Thursday two members of Al Shabaab identified as Abdule Ahmed Mudey and Omar Adam Mohamed, convicted of the murder of two security agents in 2019, according to the Somali news agency SONNA.

Somalia is facing an increase in the number of attacks by the Islamist militia, linked to the terrorist organization Al Qaeda, both in the capital and in other areas of the south of the country, which has led the president, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, to promise a reinforcement of security operations to deal with the threat.
