One of the great innovations that Windows 11 introduced was the possibility of using Android apps downloaded from the Amazon Appstore. Although it is a limited catalog, it is a good alternative for officially run applications or games that are only available for the android operating system on a PC.
What if we told you that Google is working to bring Google Play Games to Windows? The Mountain View company also wants us to be able to enjoy Android games on our computer. To do this, the deployment of the beta version of the platform has begun, so that some countries can already enjoy certain titles.
Play Android titles on Windows with the official Google platform
We know that there are different methods to have Android apps on our PC, such as leveraging Windows Subsystem for Android (WSA) in Windows 11 to run the Google Play Store. In this case, however, we will focus on the official possibility provided by Google and its limitations.
The Mountain View company focuses its proposal on Google Play Games. It is a program that we can install on our computer and, just like with the Google Play Store on our mobile, after logging in we can discover, download and install games. We will not have to be manipulating APK files or anything like that.
One of the main features of Google Play Games on Windows, explains googleis that it will give us the possibility of ssync our progress and game library. In this way, we will be able to know at a glance what games we have installed on our mobile or our tablet and download them to Windows.
The catalog, at the moment, is limited to titles that work well with keyboard and mouse. Some 85 titles are currently available, including ‘1945 Air Force’, ‘Horizon Chase’, ‘Blade Idle’ and ‘Cookie Run: Kingdom and Evony: The King’s Return’. Also, since the progress is synchronized, we can start playing on the mobile, continue on the computer and thus change devices.
System requirements and availability of Google Play Games beta
As we say, Google Play Games beta is expanding, little by little, in different markets. Google says that “more regions will be available soon”, so that in a while we could witness the arrival of the application in Spain and other countries that are not on the list that we add below.
- Australia
- Brazil
- Canada
- Hong Kong
- Indonesia
- Korea
- Malaysia
- Mexico
- Philippines
- Singapore
- Taiwan
