Nov. 2 () –
The Ukrainian president, Volodimir Zelenski, has assured this Tuesday that his Government will do everything possible to supply electricity and heating to the cities, although he has recalled that Russia “will do everything possible” to avoid it.
“We will do everything to give people electricity and heating this winter. But we must understand that Russia will do everything to destroy the normalcy of life,” the Ukrainian president said in his daily message to the country’s population.
Zelenski has indicated that the Government is carrying out restoration work continuously and without interruption, also in the territories “liberated from the occupants”.
Specifically, more than 20,000 people in the Kharkov and Donbas regions have recovered their gas supply, while gas supply is in the process of being restored in cities such as Vovchansk and Balakliya, both in Kharkov.
In this sense, the President of Ukraine has reported the possibility of accessing the water supply “for all consumers in Ukraine, as well as the possibility of obtaining electricity supply for the vast majority of the country.
However, Zelenski has accused Russia of taking into account “spending on energy terror, assuring that with the attacks perpetrated by Russia on Monday in Ukrainian territory, the monthly pensions of more than two million Russians could have been paid.
“Instead of overcoming poverty in their country, the Russian leadership spends everything to avoid admitting the historic mistake they made with this war against Ukraine,” the Ukrainian president said.
“They are useless on the battlefield. Ukrainian soldiers have already shown this. But it takes time, effort, patience to show that even the hope of winter will not come true for Russian terrorists. I am sure we will get through it.” Zelensky added.
