Oct. 30 (EUROPA PRESS) –

A journalist has died this Sunday run over while covering the “long march” of protest that former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Jan is developing along with thousands of supporters in the direction of Islamabad.

According to Channel 5, for which the reporter worked, the accident took place when the journalist fell from one of the vehicles of the former president’s entourage, which ended up running her over.

Jan has immediately suspended all his events in the city of Sadokhe, 200 kilometers from the capital, where he was celebrating the third day of the protest.

The former prime minister has declared himself “shocked and deeply saddened by the terrible accident.”

“I have no words to express my pain. My prayers and condolences go out to the family at this tragic time. We have canceled our march today,” he said on his Twitter account.

The Pakistani government had asked the party of former Prime Minister Tehrik and Insaf (PTI), to exercise responsibility in protecting the safety of the thousands of supporters who follow the deposed president in his long march against the authorities.

Pakistani Defense Minister Jawaja Asif had warned that responsibility for the security of the march would fall on the PTI provincial governments in Punjab and Khiber Pakhtunkhua provinces, given that “98 percent” of the caravan route passes through this area.
