48 people dead and 900,000 affected by the passage of the storm 'Nalgae' through the Philippines

At least 48 people have died and more than 932,077 have been affected by the floods caused by the heavy rains recorded in the Philippines due to the passage of the tropical storm ‘Nalgae’, according to the latest official balance. In addition there are 40 wounded and 22 missing persons.

The Philippine National Council for Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (CNGRRD) has published the new figure after receiving new reports from the authorities of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region of Muslim Mindanao (RABMM), according to ABS-CBN television.

In addition, 364,000 evacuated people have been reported, of which 2,125 are sheltered in evacuation centers. As for material damage, there are more than 700 houses affected and 159 are totally destroyed.

Up to 40,319 people have been preventively evacuated in ten regions: Metro Manila, Calabarzon, Mimaropa, Cagayan Valley, Bicol, Western, Central and Eastern Visayas, Northern Mindanao and Davao.

In material damage there are 59 towns and cities declared in a state of calamity and 39 hectares of affected crops have been counted. There are 533 farmers who have lost 54.9 million Philippine pesos (about 950,000 euros). There are also 39 areas with communication line problems.

The Ministry of Social Welfare and Development has already allocated 5 million pesos (about 86,000 euros) to the emergency response, mostly food packages.
