Oct. 30 (EUROPA PRESS) –
At least ten people have died and thirteen others have been injured in Baghdad after a tanker truck carrying gas exploded while it was parked in a garage in the Al Qajira neighborhood, located in the northern part of the Iraqi capital.
Badgad Operations Commander Lieutenant General Ahmed Salim Bahjat told the Shafaq news portal that the explosion dispersed materials into a nearby soccer stadium where a large crowd was gathered.
However, he has not clarified the causes behind this event and has stated that “forensic experts will present their report soon.” Although, the same media quotes a security source who pointed out that an explosive connected to a vehicle that was also parked was activated.
However, the INA news agency reports that a member of the Iraq Security Media Cell has assured that the information collected so far “shows that there was a technical defect and it is not a terrorist attack.”
