SEGA is closing the year in a big way with a lot of announcements of its mascot Sonic. Precisely today he gave a very important news about the animated series Sonic Prime, Well, it not only revealed the release date, but also the posters of some characters that will appear. Unfortunately, there was a design that gave more to talk about because many fans were dissatisfied.
Although the reaction was generally positive around the announcements of Sonic Prime, the truth is that some did not like what Rouge the Bat, villain of the series, will look like. Before we want to make it clear that many were happy with the confirmation of the return of this character to an animated series, apart from the fact that many praised the new outfit that she will wear. But there was a catch that some fans noticed.

Some fans didn’t like Rouge’s redesign for Sonic Prime
We say this because they soon noticed that the design is somewhat different. Rouge the Bat debuted in sonic adventure 2 (2001), a title that reveals the design that until now has been considered the main one, characterized by fitted black pants, huge white boots and a prominent pink heart-shaped neckline.
Many wanted to see the jewel-thief bat wearing her classic outfit (considering that practically all the characters have been faithful to her original design), but apparently the art direction opted for a design more similar to that of sonic heroes and even more conservative.
By comparison, Rouge’s wardrobe in Sonic Prime it looks discreet and even flat. We say this not only because of the neckline, but because the design in general does not have any element that stands out, not even the boots, which have the same color as the suit, instead of matching the white gloves.

Did they nerf Rouge in Sonic Prime?
In fact, something that fans noticed is that Rouge’s chest was clearly nerfed or reduced, since in the character’s original designs she is seen with a bust with much more volume.
Oh God it’s so ULGY AND BORING, I mean I’m not even big into Rouge like that but they should keep the original design. If you want it to not be reviling at least make the upper part of the cleave like a 1 piece with expose shoulders

Y’all saying Sonic Prime Rouge got nerfed but you all don’t understand they gave her A SKINTIGHT SUIT just imagine what those certain artists are about to create pic.twitter.com/Mx3apvMpMW

It is not about sexualizing the character, but it is simply that in the original designs and in the multiple alternate outfits for almost 20 years, Rouge had always kept her cleavage or at least her shoulders bare, in such a way that seeing her with the outfit he wears on Sonic Prime it is naturally strange.
Rouge’s redesign for Sonic Prime is fucking bullshit and a hate crime towards humanity.
This will always be the best Rouge design ? pic.twitter.com/f6UrcIl4cV

In addition, it is important to take into account that Rouge projected the femme fatale archetype in a certain way, a woman who makes use of her charms, beauty or flirtatious personality to deceive her opponents, so the sexy expression is part of the essence of the character. .
Anyway, fortunately we won’t have to wait long to see Sonic Prime (which looks very good), as it will debut before the end of 2022.
In case you missed it: sonic frontiers is ready to debut.
