A few weeks ago, EVGA announced its abandonment of the graphics card market, something that means that they completely broke their relationship with NVIDIA and we would stop seeing cards from the company in storeswhich took immediate effect and left us without its version of the RTX 4090.
However, as we can read on EVGA’s own website (currently down), continued development of the EVGA Precision X1 appa program that competes with others like MSI Afterburner in terms of overclocking or system monitoring needs, and that in general it is still there by being able to take advantage of the NVIDIA API for these tasks.
That EVGA has updated Precision X1 to support the RTX 4090 does not mean that it will be like that with the rest of the cards in this series, such as the RTX 4080, although it possibly is, nor does it ensure support for cards such as the RTX 5000 and later that come out of the NVIDIA oven.
Be that as it may, it’s a sign from the company that it’s still there, and while you may not want to work with NVIDIA, we may see them again in some other product segment in time.
