Oct. 24 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Syrian Army has denounced this Monday that at least one soldier has been injured in a new bombing blamed on Israeli forces registered near Damascus, the country’s capital.
Sources close to the matter have reported that Syrian air defense systems have tried to intercept several missiles launched from the Israeli side, the official SANA news agency reported.
Thus, they have indicated that although there are no more details about the attack, several facilities have suffered damage.
On Friday, Syrian authorities accused Israel of carrying out several airstrikes against targets in the vicinity of Damascus. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights has reported that unmanned vehicles were assembled at the facilities affected by this attack, the parts of which were manufactured in Iran and then secretly shipped to Dimas in southern Syria.
On the night of Friday to Saturday, the Israeli aircraft would have bombed this target and would have disabled the radar and the runway also located in these facilities.
Israeli military sources quoted by the newspaper ‘Yedioth Aharonot’ have explained that the attack was carried out with missiles launched from the Sea of Galilee and that the Syrian anti-aircraft defenses intercepted most of the projectiles.
