Oct. 21 (Portaltic/EP) –
Goal has announced new features for facebook groups, with which it intends to expand the capabilities of the administrators of this format and prevent the spread of false or unverified information on the social network.
The company has announced these news within the framework of the sixth Facebook Community Summit, where he recognized that with these changes he seeks to “help people, get more involved in things that matter to them, strengthen the culture of the community and make it easy for admins to manage their groups“.
One of the most outstanding features is the introduction of Reels in Groups, to share certain posts to a smaller group. As before, this format allows you to add audio, overlay text or filters, among other editing features.
Likewise, Facebook already has an option that allows share a public Facebook event to Stories Instagram and has announced that it is testing updates to its group profile, as detailed on its blog.
With these updates, users will be able to customize the information in the ‘About’ from the community and add an indicator that the profile is open to receive messages.
On the other hand, Meta is testing a capability where group administrators will be able to highlight the members who contribute the most to its development and/or maintenance. These will add points and obtain badges to stand out in the profile of said community.
In this sense, he has presented the figure of the ‘Socializer’ (Socializer), a specific role for administrators to recognize who are their most popular and motivated active members to contribute to the group.
The latest Meta update for Facebook also focuses on a new format for dealing with false information. Thus, group administrators will be able to place posts rated fake by information verifiers in a section of ‘Pending publications’. From there, they will be reviewed before being published or deleted.
In addition, administrators will have access to a daily summary of the movements made in the community based on a series of pre-established criteria, using the tool AdminAssist.
Facebook has also recalled that it is testing the function ‘Marked by Facebook’, a tool that alerts admins to potential Facebook Community Standards violations before they appear in the Group Quality tool.
Also, this functionality gives some group administrators the ability to use an additional context and allow the publication of content that the social network itself could filter and eliminate for harassment or ‘bullying’.
Finally, the company has commented that it is testing the ability for group administrators and moderators to can create read-only chats to send one-way communications
