Overwatch 2 celebrates a collaboration with McDonald’s, but don’t get excited

A few days ago, the Australian McDonald’s account hinted that a special collaboration with Overwatch 2, the popular hero shooter from Blizzard Entertainment, was imminent. A few days later, the fast food chain confirmed the crossover and revealed the official details. Unfortunately, not everything is hunky-dory.

McDonald’s is giving away an epic Tracer skin for Overwatch 2

Before we get to the bad news, what is collaboration all about? Basically, all customers who buy a Big Mac, McChicken or Chicken McNuggets combo through MyMacca, an application that allows you to order from your cell phone, will get the epic skin “Tracer Lightning” from Overwatch 2 no additional cost.

This attractive promotion is already active and will continue that way until next October 31. Unfortunately, it is only available to customers in Australia. At the time of writing these lines, it is unknown if it will reach other regions such as the United States, Latin America, Spain, etc.

The exclusivity will no doubt be disappointing to a section of the community that wants to add a new cosmetic item to their collection. Of course, it is worth noting that the reward is not exactly new, since it debuted in the first installment many years ago, so it is possible that many players already have it.

Specifically, the skin for Tracer debuted at the 2018 anniversary event. At the time, it received a lot of criticism for changing the popular Tracer character’s signature hair. Overwatchh. Even so, the inhabitants of Australia can now get it more easily thanks to this collaboration with the fast food chain.

It is difficult to know if Blizzard Entertainment already plans new collaborations. We must remember that Jon Spector, vice president of Overwatch, dropped the possibility of seeing crossover with third-party properties in the future. The crossover with McDonald’s may be part of these efforts.
