Gender InES works in Los Angeles UdeC manual for good practices in R&D&i&e

The manual, which will be developed by the InES Gender Project under the Office of the Vice President for Research and Development, seeks to generate guidelines, recommendations and guidelines for the incorporation of the gender approach in the various areas of knowledge, considering the particularities of each campus in its construction. and institutional views.

The beginning of this cycle of interviews and group workshops for the creation of the Manual of Good Practices in R+D+i+e It started with academic groups and the research manager of the Los Angeles Campus. In particular, on October 13, group interviews were carried out in which various academics participated, where various opinions and experiences were collected on the conditions and challenges for the development of the research.

Within this activity, the person in charge of the Innovation and Project Management and Research Unit at the Los Angeles campus, Jonathan Guzman Sandoval, commented that “everything that regulates university work is good, even more so if the gender approach and labor practices are considered. This manual will allow us to respond in instances where inequalities are generated, significantly improving the conditions in which research is carried out at the university”.

The InES Gender Project will continue with the diagnostic process of collecting information and experiences during October. Based on this, the project manager, Dr. Alejandra Brito, expressed that “the manual was one of the commitments that we acquired as a project since its formulation and responds to the need to institutionalize practices that seek to reduce gender gaps. The obstacles for researchers are often subtle, which is why the creation of this manual is key, because it will make new knowledge practices visible in different areas.”

The first version of the Manual of Good Practices in R&D&i&e will be presented in December 2022, starting an institutional validation process to later start a dissemination and awareness campaign to incorporate the gender approach in the different practices of the university community.
