The United States has assured this Thursday that there was a “relatively small number” of Iranian experts deployed in Crimea to instruct Russian troops on the island in the use of drones, according to the communication spokesman for the National Security Council, John Kirby. .

In this sense, Kirby has confirmed that Russian military personnel in Crimea have used this type of weaponry, from Iran, in attacks against Ukraine, even against the city of kyiv, according to the US network .

“Tehran is now engaged directly on the ground and through the supply of weapons, which is affecting the Ukrainian population and the civilian infrastructure in the country and they are killing civilians and destroying (buildings) in Ukraine,” he stressed, adding that Iran “can lie to the world”, but not “hide the facts”.

The United States denounced on Wednesday the violation of the United Nations Security Council resolution by Iran for the transfer of military drones to Russia for use in the Ukraine war, actions for which it threatened new sanctions.

For its part, the Government of Iran assured on Wednesday that it is willing to clarify before the Ukrainian authorities the “unfounded” accusations about the use of these devices by the Russian Armed Forces, which have resorted to this type of weaponry in their latest wave of massive attacks.
