Konami has presented the ‘remake’ of Silent Hill 2 for PlayStation 5 and PC through Steam, one of the novelties that the distributor is preparing for the coming years on this psychological horror franchise.
The distributor recovers the 2001 game for PlayStation 2 with a high-quality remake that returns players to the eerie mist-shrouded town with improved visuals, sounds, and gameplay.
Behind this ‘remake’, which will come to PlayStation 5 and PC through Steam, is the Polish studio Bloober Team, and the composer Akira Yamaoka and the conceptual artist Masahiro Ito have also participated, as Konami has shared in a note of press.
The new Silent Hill 2 will feature the protagonist James Sunderland and his search for clues in the town of the same name, after receiving a mysterious letter from his long-dead wife Mary. Players will discover creepy monsters and other manifestations of James’ consciousness reworked after 20 years, using the most advanced technology to play on modern entertainment systems in 4K.
Along with this title, Konami has unveiled four other new projects at its Sielnt Hill Transmission event, held this Wednesday night. One of them, Silent Hill: Townfallrun by Annapurna Interactive and No Code Studios, will offer a new perspective on the psychological horror franchise.
For its part, Silent Hill f will be a brand new story set in 1960s Japan, written by Ryukishi07, author of the visual novels Higurashi no Naku Koro ni and Umineko no Naku Koro ni.
It has also been announced Silent Hill: Ascension, which proposes a new story and characters, and whose narration will take place live and on multiple platforms. It is a collaboration between Genvid Entertainment, Bad Robot Games, Behavior Interactive and dj2 Entertainment.
Also, it has been announced a new film adaptation, Return to Silent Hill, from the hand of Christophe Gans, the director of the original 2006 Silent Hill movie and 2014 Beauty and the Beast.
