Pixel Watch screen cannot be changed without removing the battery

Recently, the launch of the Google Pixel Watchand although it will not arrive in Spain for now, it has arrived at the iFixit offices, where they have proceeded to disassemble it to find a rather bitter surprise that has to do with the repairability of the screen.

Although there are numerous complaints about the permanent glue used in the batteries of the devices that are sold in the market, it is a necessary evil, since it must be ensured that the battery does not move to avoid risks. It is true that there is glue with removal strips, but it is not used in all devices.

As we see in the video on these lines, Google requires a warm-up prior to levering the battery to even be able to disconnect the screenso we find ourselves in a delicate situation where we can break a flexible cable by having to apply excessive force to components that are no longer firmly attached to the watch.

At a minimum, this will translate into increased costs for screen replacement, that is if problems do not occur such as having to replace the battery at the same time as the screen to ensure that there are no problems in the future.
