Racing against the clock and with all the expectations of the gamer community, Santa Monica Studio worked on the development of “God of War: Ragnarok”, the direct sequel to the title that was launched in 2018. As expected, the work has not been easy, since they must adapt the literature of Greek mythology and mix it with the God they invented to end Olympus.
In the first installment, we saw that Kratos wishes to withdraw from that path of struggle, blood and suffering, but his destiny seems to be written as if it were law. However, he is not alone in the adventure, he must train his son Atreus.
At the end of the video game we gamers find out that it is Loki, so the rest of the Ragnarok story begins to make more sense. Kratos and Atreus will cause the fall of all this mythology, in the same style as the first trilogy with the Greek gods.
As expected, the development has been plagued with problems, some stemming from the pandemic. For this reason, the developer will share a series of videos that will focus on all the work behind the video game.
“Boy! Through this series you will travel between the Nine Realms discovering how God of War Ragnarök has been made. In this first chapter you will be in Midgard seeing how it was to create God of War (2018) and how Ragnarök was worked on before its release”, is detailed in the first chapter of the series.
Ariel Angelotti, senior producer of the video game, began the video with an impressive narration: “how do you overcome that? How do you create something that gamers like as much as God of War (2018)? The pressure is immense.
