A group of Afghan women demonstrated in Kabul on Tuesday to protest the expulsion of several Hazara classmates from the Kabul University student residence, after denouncing that they had been intoxicated.
Dozens of women have peacefully protested to demand their right to education from the Taliban, while at the same time reproaching the international community for the oblivion to which they have been relegated after the fundamentalists came to power just over a year ago. .
The protest has been quickly suppressed by the Taliban, who have threatened to retaliate against them if they continue with the mobilization. “Once again, they have prevented us from demonstrating by insulting and threatening us,” said a young woman in a video published by the international agency Aamaj News.
At the end of September, more than fifty students, most of them young women, died as a result of a suicide attack against an educational center in Kabul, the capital of Afghanistan. The mobilizations of rejection in several provinces were dissolved by the Taliban.
Among those who tried to participate in those mobilizations were a group of seven Afghan students of the Hazara ethnic group, who had been intoxicated by the staff of the student residence of the University of Kabul so that they would not do so. After denouncing these facts they were expelled.
The young women suffered food poisoning on the orders of the Taliban when it became known that they planned to organize a protest over the attack in late September, according to a source accessed by the Afghan news and research portal Etilaatroz.
