The Iranian Police have assured this Friday that they are investigating the possible sexual assault of a woman by one of their agents in the framework of an arrest during a demonstration for the death of the young Kurdish Mahsa Amini.
“The Police, while taking measures to ensure the safety of citizens, consider themselves obliged to respond and do not condone behavior outside the laws. In any way, and in the event of any violation of the rules and regulations, violators will be prosecuted. “, He pointed out in a statement collected by the state news agency ISNA.
Despite the fact that the Police have issued “a special order” to deal with this matter, they have also stated that the videos circulating on social networks are “blackmail” to “disturb” the minds of public opinion.
In two recent videos verified by the British network BBC, several agents of the Iranian security forces, during a demonstration with a heavy police presence, forcibly grab a woman, apparently groping her.
Amnesty International already documented on September 28 sexual assaults and other types of gender violence by the security forces. In this sense, the NGO assures that the agents grab the women by the chest and violently pull their hair.
