Six months later, Netflix will launch its subscription with ads

The launch of Netflix with Ads will take place in 12 countries, including Mexico and will arrive from November 1.

According to Greg Peters, COO of Netflix, the announcement is possible thanks to the support of some partners, including Microsoft and Nielsen, with whom they will support each other to have useful metrics for advertisers, as well as a good experience for users.

The new subscription will be called the Básico with ads, it will cost only 99 pesos per month in Mexico and will launch on November 1 at 11 am.

It will be available in Germany, Australia, Brazil, Canada, Korea, Spain, the United States, France, Italy, Japan, Mexico and the United Kingdom.

What will happen to my current plan?

The streaming company ensures that nothing will change for current members and plans.

“Basic with Ads complements the current ad-free plan offering, which includes: Basic, Standard and Premium,” Peters said.

In the case of the current basic plan, Netflix will maintain access to series and movies, as well as the personalized viewing experience.

What’s different is video quality up to 720p/HD (now available on the Basic plan as well as Basic with ads) and an average of 4-5 minutes of ads per hour.

It should be noted that some series and movies will not be available due to license restrictions in which the company claims to be working and content cannot be downloaded.

How to subscribe to the plan with Netflix ads?

Starting in November, users will be able to opt for this subscription and it will be from Netflix.com and only an email, date of birth and gender will be needed.
