Netflix has announced this Thursday a substantial change that will affect its users from November 10. And it is that the platform will soon have available its new subscription option with ads, which will be available in Spain from 5:00 p.m. and only for 5.49 euros per month.

However, this format will be very similar to that of conventional television, since whoever opts for the Basic plan with ads you will need to display between four and five minutes of advertising per hour, which will be included at the beginning and in the middle of the content. Initially, these will last 20 seconds.

Among other novelties that affect this plan -with which Netflix promises “Essential entertainment at an unbeatable price-, there will be a limited number of series, movies and documentaries that users will not be able to watch, content will not be able to be downloaded to watch without an internet connection and the video quality will be up to 720p/HD -the same as the Basic Plan currently available -.

“Basic with ads is a great opportunity for advertisers, as they can reach a diverse audience – including younger viewers, who are less and less traditional television – in an optimal environment to watch high definition ads,” reads the statement. from Netflix.

This method will be available in twelve countries, with Spain being the last to join it: Germany, Australia, Brazil, Canada, South Korea, the United States, France, Italy, Japan, Mexico and the United Kingdom.
