Like the fenix bird, Cyberpunk 2077 rose from the ashes and experienced one of its best moments a few weeks ago. Its sudden success was no accident, since it coincided with the launch of edgerunners, an animated series from Netflix and Studio Trigger that had an excellent reception. It’s clear that this sci-fi universe has a lot to offer, something that CD Projekt RED is aware of.
A few weeks ago, the Polish studio expressed its commitment to the franchise and hinted at its interest in expanding it to other media. Cyberpunk: Edgerunners It is the clear example that, despite the controversial launch of the video game, intellectual property has potential.
With a new installment already on the horizon, CD Projekt RED confirmed this week that an original novel inspired by the open world RPG title’s universe will debut in the middle of next year.

Cyberpunk 2077: No Coincidence will tell a new story
Through a post on Twitter, the study from Poland presented to the world Cyberpunk 2077: Mismatch, a novel that will narrate an independent story set in the fictional city of Night City. The author of this material is the Polish writer Rafat Kosik.
“In the glittering Night City, a motley crew of strangers has just pulled off a heist and stole a convoy carrying a mysterious container belonging to Militech. The only thing the members of the group have in common is that they were blackmailed into being part of the heist, and they have no idea the extent of the reach of their mysterious employer or the purpose of the artifact they stole.
The new novel, “Cyberpunk 2077: No Coincidence,” is coming to bookstores in August 2023.
Written by Rafał Kosik, “No Coincidence” tells a story about a group of strangers as they discover the dangers of Night City.
