Transfer of migrants in the US: a political tool?

Transfer of migrants in the US: a political tool?

First modification:

Recently, the mayor of New York, Eric Adams, declared a state of emergency due to the large number of migrants arriving daily in the city, which has unleashed a humanitarian crisis. Most of them are sent from states such as Florida, Texas and Arizona, governed by Republicans. Many migrants claim to have been sent under false pretenses or feel used for political purposes. Is the transfer of migrants a political move? We analyze it in our program.

The New York authorities have a forecast of up to 100,000 people who will arrive in the coming months. To this end, they have enabled 42 hotels as shelters and distributed nearly 5,500 minors in public schools.

The situation is beginning to be critical, especially due to the conditions in which the migrants are and with a winter that is about to begin. Many do not have adequate clothing, are exhausted, weak and in great need.

What about the rights and guarantees for migrants in the United States? What response does the federal government led by Joe Biden give? Why does a political war between two parties leave people in dire need and wanting to restart their lives in the middle? We analyze the topic from the hand of our guests:

– Luis Dávila, political analyst and member of the Democratic National Committee.

– JP Carroll, Republican strategist and analyst for national security and inclusive governance at the Joseph Rainey Center for Public Policy.
