TikTok introduces ‘Photo Mode’, an Instagram-like feature that allows you to create mobile photo carousels

TikTok has announced new tools for creating and editing content, among which is Photo Mode (‘Photo Mode’), a functionality similar to that of Instagram, which allows sharing carousels of images in the application for mobile devices.

The essential feature of the Chinese platform, owned by ByteDance, is its videos, in vertical format. Users can create, edit and publish them with music and effects, such as filters or augmented reality (AR) features.

Unlike its main competitor, Instagram, this service does not offer the possibility of creating static publications, that is, with individual images or photo carousels with text.

Now, TikTok has announced new enhanced video editing tools and an image publication format, available in the United States and in most regions of the world, as pointed out in your blog.

Regarding the editing options, the company has indicated that it will be possible to edit clips and sounds, place the superimposed text and set the duration of this on the screen and add photo or image overlays.

Added to these innovations are the possibility of adding sound effects, modifying the content of the individual clips box (rotate it, zoom in or out) and adjust video speed, to play at a faster or slower pace.

On the other hand, TikTok has introduced the so-called Photo Mode (‘Photo Mode’), a new image carousel format intended for mobile versionto which you can also add music.

In addition, the platform has announced that it is already possible to add longer descriptions to your videos, which can now contain texts of up to 2,200 characters; an option also available in photo mode.

With these functionalities, creators will have a new way of contextualizing their videos, while with the image carousels the company seeks to offer “another space to be able to express and connect with others.
