The Prime Minister of the Republic of Korea, Han Duck-soo, will give a keynote address on Tuesday, October 11, 2022 at the headquarters of the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) in Santiago, Chile, where he will be received by the Executive Secretary of the United Nations regional organization, José Manuel Salazar-Xirinachs.
The highest authority of the Republic of Korea will offer at 4:00 p.m. local time (UTC/GMT -3:00) a keynote presentation entitled “Vision for the future of cooperation between the Republic of Korea and Latin America and the Caribbean in It was a time of great transformation.
Han Duck-soo has been Prime Minister of the Republic of Korea since May 2022, although he previously held the post from 2007 to 2008. He has a Ph.D. in Economics from Harvard University, and was also his country’s ambassador to the United States (2009-2012). and representative of the permanent mission of South Korea to the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD). He also served as Minister of Finance and Economy (2005-2006) and was president of the Korea International Trade Association.
The Republic of Korea and ECLAC have collaborated closely in recent years on key issues for the development of Latin America and the Caribbean, such as the internationalization of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), the reduction of the environmental footprint of exports and the promotion of sustainable and inclusive urbanization.
The media are invited to attend this keynote address, which will be held in the Raúl Prebisch Room at ECLAC headquarters (Av. Dag Hammarskjöld 3477, Vitacura, Santiago, Chile).
