The Ukrainian authorities have raised this Saturday to 19 the number of dead in the missile attack carried out on Thursday by Russian forces against the city of Zaporizhia, capital of the homonymous region, which hit several residential buildings.
The last of these 19 bodies has been recovered this Saturday from the rubble, according to the Ukrainian news agency Ukrinform.
The attack would be the result of the launch of Iranian-made ‘kamikaze’ drones Shahed-136, according to the Ukrainian authorities.
The city is outside the zone controlled by Russian forces and should not be confused with the nuclear power plant of the same name located further south.
Zaporizhia is one of the regions annexed by Russia after the recent referendums held in the areas occupied by Russian troops, along with Donetsk, Lugansk and Kherson.
