July 3 () –
At least three people have been shot in a Copenhagen shopping mall, Danish Police reported on Twitter.
In addition, the arrest of an individual in relation to this incident has been confirmed, according to the Danish radio station DR. The Rigshospitalet hospital has reported for its part three patients treated for gunshots.
The photographs spread on social networks show heavily armed police officers and several ambulances. Police have cordoned off the entire mall and a helicopter is monitoring the area.
Police Sub-Inspector Lars Ole Karlsen explained to DR radio that they are carrying out “tactical” tasks inside the Field’s shopping center. “We continue to search Field’s. It is for the injured but also in search of a possible suspect. The objective is to gain security,” he pointed out.
Witnesses have assured that they have been able to hear between three and four shots. “I was with my three young children in the shopping center trying on clothes at H&M when I heard three or four detonations. They were very loud sounds. They seemed like shots fired next to H&M, on the first floor,” said a witness consulted by DR, Laurits Hermansen .
When he heard the shots he fled the scene and could see people as he entered the clothing store shouting “There are shots! There are shots!”.
