Today Nintendo and Illumination finally shared the first trailer for the film The Super Mario Bros. Movie. This first preview not only allowed us to take a look at the character designs, but also at his voice, which gave a lot to talk about, especially Mario’s voice in English, which some did not like. If you are one of them and you were hoping to hear a voice more similar to that of the character in the video games, we have no doubt that you will prefer the trailer in French.

Being a very ambitious project, Universal Pictures will work on dubbing in multiple languages, such as Portuguese, French, Italian, Spanish from Spain and Spanish from Latin America, and has already shared them.

Naturally, the fans were curious to see the trailer in Italian, because they expected that Mario would sound a little more like in video games, because let’s remember that Mario is a plumber from Italy who has a very strong accent from that country when he speaks in English.

Mario from the movie has a more Italian accent in the French dub

Well, now that the trailers are out, fans have noticed that, although the Italian trailer sounds good (in fact, in all versions the characters don’t differ in tone of voice), the French dub has a Mario with an accent more like video game Mario, which is kind of ironic.
