In the accident, the pilot of the aircraft and a member of the ground staff at the airport have lost their lives, and two civilians and eight soldiers have been injured, two of whom with minor injuries, according to the letter.

The rescue services, Civil Protection of Mali and the UN Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali (MINUSMA) have reacted “immediately” in support of the soldiers of the Malian Armed Forces, who mobilized to control the fire.

In turn, an investigation commission has gone to the place where the combat plane has crashed to investigate the circumstances and causes of the accident.

However, the General Staff of the Armed Forces has presented its condolences to the families of the victims and has wished a speedy recovery to the wounded, according to the statement.
