Biden talks with Zelenskyy and approves new millionaire aid to kyiv

The White House on Tuesday allocated a new security aid package to Ukraine, consisting of 625 million dollars, after a conversation on-line in which President Joe Biden reaffirmed to his Ukrainian counterpart, Volodymyr Zlenskyy, that “the United States will never recognize the alleged annexation of the Ukrainian territory by Russia.

This is the 22nd security aid package that Washington orders to be released from Pentagon reserves to boost Ukraine’s defensive capabilities after the russian invasion of February 24.

“I reaffirmed my commitment to continue supporting Ukraine, including through today’s new $625 million security assistance package,” Biden said in a tweet.

In accordance with what was expressed by the US president, the Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, explained in a statement what was the drive of the White House to strengthen support for kyiv.

“Recent events, from Russia’s illegitimate referendums and the attempted annexation to the new revelations of brutality against civilians in Ukrainian territory previously controlled by Russia, only strengthen our resolve, ”says the announcement signed by Blinken.

The new aid includes weapons, ammunition and more equipment from the Department of Defense -the Pentagon-, with which the aforementioned support for the European nation now rises to more than 17,500 million dollars since the Democratic president came to the white house in January 2021.

Four high-mobility missile launcher systems (HIMARS) have now been dispatched, with their respective ammunition, 155-mm caliber artillery projectiles, anti-ambush vehicles, howitzers and 30,000 120-mm mortar ammunition, among others.
