NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg warned Russian President Vladimir Putin on Sunday that there will be a “firm and united” response in the event of a deliberate attack on critical NATO infrastructure and has assured that any nuclear action It will have “serious consequences”.
“Any deliberate attack against critical NATO infrastructure will have a firm and united response,” Stoltenberg told the US network NBC when questioned about the possible sabotage of the Nord Stream 1 gas pipeline.
Regarding the annexation of four new Ukrainian regions by Russia, Stoltenberg has assured that “the best response is to continue supporting Ukraine”.
Regarding Ukraine’s request to join NATO on the fast track, Stoltenberg stressed that it is a decision that all the member countries of the Alliance must agree on.
