The renowned politician Francisco Huerta died in Ecuador

( Spanish) — The former Minister of Government, former Mayor of Guayaquil, doctor and renowned politician Francisco Huerta Montalvo, died this Saturday in Ecuador.

The government and different personalities of the country shared their expressions of regret.

In 2021, President Guillermo Lasso awarded Huerta the National Order of San Lorenzo in the Degree of Grand Cross, the highest distinction in the State for his career.

The president said on his Twitter account that “Pancho, today leaves a great void in politics and ethics. Man of impeccable trajectory”.

My sincere condolences to the family of Francisco Huerta Montalvo, our beloved Pancho, who today leaves a great void in politics and ethics. A man with an impeccable career. Ecuador loses a true citizen, a tireless defender of democracy. RIP.
