The new Fire TV Cube now has a more modern and elegant design, allows you to manage cable or satellite TV decoders and AV receivers. In addition, it releases improvements in connectivity and a processor that seeks to provide a faster multimedia experience. Let’s see what’s new.

New Fire TV Cube, changes inside and out
On an aesthetic level, the 2nd generation Fire TV Cube had a shiny plastic surface that did not particularly stand out. In the 3rd generation, although it is not a substantial change, we find a device with almost the same dimensions, but with a fabric finish that gives it a more careful appearance.
But the changes do not lie only in the visible. The interior of the Fire TV Cube has also been revamped. We have gone from a Hexa-Core processor (4 x 2.2 GHz, 2 x 1.9 GHz) to a Octa-Core processor (4 x 2.2 GHz, 4 x 2.0 GHz) which promises to offer 20% more performance than the previous generation.
There is also an update at the connectivity level. We now have Wi-Fi 6E, which can enhance the streaming content experience, and Bluetooth 5.2 and Bluetooth Low Energy, to connect a wide range of compatible speakers, headphones, game controllers and other devices.
Amazon notes that this is the first Fire TV that includes an HDMI input port. And what is this for? To connect and thus control other devices such as cable or satellite TV decoders and Blue-ray players. At the port level, there is also one for HDMI output and one for USB-A to, for example, connect a webcam and make video calls with Alexa.
The device also comes with a novelty called Super Resolution Upscaling. This is a technology that converts HD content to 4K for enhanced picture quality. This should allow content not intended for 4K screens to be better displayed in this resolution.
