Kioxia has used the strengths of his memory BiCS 3D NAND in its favor to create a new line of MicroSD cards with record capacities, and as the company explains on its website, The Kioxia Exceria Plus will arrive in this small format with capacities of up to 2TB.
These are some cards that will arrive as a response to the incessant increase in quality that cameras are achieving throughout the industry, either in smartphones or in dedicated cameras, which are getting 4K and 8K recording capabilities, thus taking up huge amounts of storage in the process.
These cards are built, as we mentioned, with Kioxia’s BiCS 3D NAND technology, which has allowed mounting 16 dies of 1 terabit 3D Flash memory in a thickness of just 0.8mm, something that allows them to work perfectly in large data recording applications even in a form factor as compact as a MicroSD, which can sometimes be smaller than some NAND packages.
These memory cards are expected go into production in 2023so it shouldn’t take too long to see them through the different technological showcases.
