The German ambassador in kyiv, Anka Feldgusen, has clarified that Berlin does not place any type of restriction or condition on the use of weapons supplied to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
“I have read about alleged demands from other partners. I have not read or heard anything about this in Germany. I have been in Germany at an ambassadors’ conference, and it has not been mentioned,” Feldgusen said in an interview for European Pravda, collected by Ukrinform.
As the ambassador in kyiv added, the German authorities are aware that, once weapons are supplied to Ukraine, Berlin can no longer influence what will be done with said material.
On the other hand, Feldgusen has reiterated Germany’s refusal to recognize the referendums on joining Russia held in Donetsk, Lugansk, Kherson and Zaporizhia, both four regions of eastern Ukraine under Russian control.
“For us, this is the territory of Ukraine, and Ukraine does what it considers necessary throughout the territory. Nothing will change for us,” said the German representative regarding plebiscites whose results show more than 95 percent support for the accession to Russia.
