The attorney general of the state of New York filed a civil lawsuit against Donald Trump and three of his children on Wednesday in the investigation into the tax practices of his company, the Trump Organization, reinforcing the pressure of justice on the former US president.

A new legal shock for the family of former President Donald Trump. In a 200-page lawsuit, New York State Attorney General Letitia James accused Trump and three of his children of running a meticulous operation to defraud banks, lending and tax organizations.
James, a Democratic elected official, has indicated she is seeking $250 million in reparations on behalf of New York state, as well as a ban on running businesses for Donald Trump and his children Donald Trump Jr., Ivanka Trump and Eric Trump.
In the copious lawsuit, they are accused of fraud and fraud and the dynamics that Trump, Ivanka and Donald Trump Junior allegedly followed to inflate the value of certain properties and, in turn, minimize that of others within the orbit of the company are described in detail. The lawsuit also states that Trump deceived his own accountants and that the former president warned his employees and their children to be careful not to leave anything in writing that could later incriminate them.

The New York prosecutor’s lawsuit, filed in the state Supreme Court, “demonstrates that Donald Trump falsely inflated the net worth (of his assets) by billions of dollars to unjustly enrich himself and cheat the system, as well as everyone. us,” James said.
According to her, the value of assets has been “repeatedly and persistently manipulated” to “encourage banks to lend money to the Trump Organization on more favorable terms”, “pay less taxes” or even “to induce insurance companies to provide insurance coverage for higher limits and lower premiums.
The civil suit was filed before the Supreme Court of the State of New York and in addition to requiring 250 million dollars from the Trump family, it asks the Justice to prohibit them from managing any company or private initiative in New York.
The 76-year-old Republican billionaire is also being investigated for his role in the attack on the United States Capitol on January 6, 2021, as well as for his attempts to nullify the 2020 presidential election and his handling of classified documents, which which recently led the FBI to raid his residence in Mar-a-Lago, Florida.
The 45th president of the United States (2017-2021), who is considering running again in 2024, has not yet been criminally prosecuted in any of these cases.
On his social network Truth Social, the former president denounced “a new witch hunt,” accusing James of political persecution.
“Letitia James is the most corrupt prosecutor in the history of the United States,” added her son Eric Trump, indicted as executive vice president of the Trump Organization.
“A tale of two justice systems – yes, where criminals go free and Democrats only go after their political opponents!” Trump spokeswoman Liz Harrington wrote on Truth Social.
