If this morning we told you about the 5.8 GHz that they had managed to reach with overclocking in the 16 cores of an AMD Ryzen 9 7950X, now, just a few hours later, this mark has been broken and they have managed to reach 6.5 GHz in all cores of this processor.
For this, liquid nitrogen has been used to achieve temperatures below zero and allow the high voltages necessary for this type of increase. Still, in the CPU-Z screenshot you can see that the required voltage was only 1.465v, below what you would expect for a processor with this capability.
The single-core record has been achieved with 7.2 GHz, and to achieve it it has been necessary to go up to 1,506 volts.
These are quite interesting increases considering that the AMD Ryzen 9 7950X starts from a base frequency of 4.5 GHz for all cores and a maximum Boost of 5.7 GHz base or 5.85 GHz with PBO .
This processor will be the most powerful of the new line of AMD Ryzen processors based on its new Zen 4 architecture. Its 16 cores place it above the 12, 8 and 6 that the Ryzen 9 7900X, Ryzen 7 7700X and Ryzen 5 will have. 7600X respectively.
