According to the new report presented by the Communications Regulatory Commission (CRC), the porting operations carried out during the second quarter of 2022 reached 1.98 million, which represents an increase of 4.85% compared to the previous quarter and an increase of 13.28% compared to the second quarter of 2021.

The operators with a negative net result are Movistar (28,600), Tigo (14,300), WOM (26,900), Avantel (19,100), Éxito (25,200), Virgin (22,100), Flash Mobile (3,200), ETB (675) and Setroc ( 676).

Regarding the flow of porting operations, it is evident that, in the second quarter of 2022, in the case of Tigo and Movistar, more than half of their porting operations were destined for Claro, while WOM’s operations towards said operator were located close to 50%, while for Claro and Virgin, the main destination operator of their port operations was Tigo, with 44% and 33.6%, respectively, in the second quarter of 2022”, highlighted the CRC report.

It should be noted that since the implementation of the measure of Mobile Number Portability in the country, in 2011 and until the month of June 2022, there have been 37.4 million ports or changes of operator keeping the same cell phone number. This has allowed users to exercise their right to freely choose their mobile service operator.
