() –– Twitter is preparing to call Elon Musk to testify on September 26-27, as part of his ongoing legal battle over the $44 billion takeover deal, according to a court document in the case.
News of Musk’s statement comes as Twitter co-founder and former CEO Jack Dorsey answers questions Tuesday from company attorneys and Musk’s legal team.
Also, as Musk’s lawyers expand their case against Twitter. Earlier this month, a judge decided that the billionaire could add to the case claims based on revelations from whistleblower Peiter Zatko, Twitter’s former head of security, who accuses the company of serious security vulnerabilities that put its users, investors, and US national security at risk.
Twitter said that Zatko’s allegations raise a “false narrative” of the company and that Musk’s claims are “truly inaccurate, legally insufficient and commercially irrelevant.”
The two sides will begin a five-day trial on October 17.
