Manzana has confirmed a problem in iOS 16 that can prevent the correct activation of the new iPhone 14 through an open WiFi network, and has assured that he is already investigating it.
The Cupertino company has recognized this error in an internal statement, to which the specialized portal has had access MacRumorswhich he says can “impact device activation on open Wi-Fi networks.”
This problem appears just before the shipments of the new iPhone 14 to consumers, who would also be affected, thus preventing their initial configuration.
In the internal statement, Apple proposes, while investigating the matter, connecting the iPhone to a Mac or other PC with iTunes during the initial activation process of the device. The user will then need to return to the previous screen and try again until successful.
The technology also confesses that currently there is no official solution to patch the problem. However, you have asked your support team not to open a repair file regarding this error.
The medium has recalled that the iOS 16.0.1 update is now available and can fix, among other errors, one also related to the activation and migration process on an iPhone 14.
For its part, Apple has recommended in its support website that said update may also be necessary if an iPhone 14 user has problems activating iMessage and Facetime.
